Spore
A big game. Lead your own species, from the cell status, to space time. Fight against big cell, wild beast, other cities, against the Grox, and maybe you can reach the Light Age and meet God!
No more advert, 'swear it. So, do everyone know/play this game?

I know it well but I haven't played it much since I can't afford to buy it except for the DS version which I play all of time when
have the time.

Hehe, me too! Each time, it is: "Okay, just 1/4 hour between 2 anime!", and finally:"Oh, crap! Midnight? 'Ave to go sleep!"
What is the best,in your view?

I was very much looking forwardto this game, but now that I have it I must say I'm a bit disappointed. I mean it's really great to evolve your own species from a cell to space travelling sentinents, but it's all over much too quickly. I started playing it on a weekend and after about six hours, I was already in the space stage, had conquered two other empires, found multiple allied species and bought some of their planets, and did all the other things like terraforming and ecological mayhem to some degree. After two more hours I flew with my space ship to the center of the universe and discovered the "big", "only power gamers will ever see this" secret. Well, that was quick I thought.
The next day I played again on hard and created a different species, but it only took me a bit longer to reach space and get bored.
The best part of this game are the first two stages in my opinion. Raising your creature is just fun and very inovative. But after that it gets rather dull I think, there is not enough content to keep me interested for long. Stages 3 and 4 are more of a chore than fun, and space stage is so impersonal, it feels the same regardless of what you did in the earlier stages.
So I can only hope the addons will include some new actual game content. As great as the editor is, it too get boring after creating your 20th or so creature.
To summerize: Great ideas, wonderful and fun editors, but too short and too little actual game.

I have to agree with Zero on this one. Except I never get tired of making new creatures. I've probably spent more time doing that than playing the actual game. Although I am curious what kind of expansions are going to come out. Hopefully ones that expand the tribal and civilization phase. They were fun, but over too quickly in my opinion. And while the space phase can get a little repetitive, I love exploring and messing with planets. I think Spore's a cool game, but I think a lot of people forgot about the fact that it was a game and got too hyped up. But it's definitely something.

You're right, the different test that i read present this game like a repetitive game. And personnaly, i find that the space stade is a little "odd". Why not a Civ-like game? Why do the empire rest on one poor pilot? And why your allies was too stupid to stop to hit inside the Alliance?
For the Space Stage, i was hoping a Empire like the one in Star Wars, but all you can have is a big one-species empire.
Except the last stage, it's a good game, in my view. Some thinks that Spore will be the next "Pompaflouz" of EA (after the Sims), with a lot of expansion.
We'll see later.

not huge on it to be honest. the game has a nice concept and it's creative but there's just too much tedious work that has to go into it and it gets repetitive real fast for me.

Yeah, I can honestly say....Spore is quite boring for me now. To the point of where I don't even feel like playing it anymore.

i get that alot. I don't even have to play the game by now to know whether it's going to be hot or flop. "Gamer's eye" Spore only had the customization feature going for it and that only lasts so long.
